- Malam Muhammad Umar Usman, Education Secretary, Dukku Local Government — the visit was to formally congratulate him on his appointment
and to express E.E.I.D.’s readiness to collaborate with the Local Government Education Authority (LGEA) on shared priorities. - Prof. Bashir Usman, Dean, Faculty of Environmental Sciences — Gombe State University, Dukku Campus — the delegation sought guidance on possible partnerships,
student engagement programs, and academic linkages between the university and local secondary schools.
Purpose & Importance
Courtesy visits are an institutional practice that builds trust between community organizations and public institutions.
By congratulating newly appointed officials and consulting established academic leaders, E.E.I.D. aims to:
- Establish formal lines of communication for student outreach and tutoring programs.
- Explore collaboration opportunities such as guest lectures, internship pathways, and resource sharing.
- Seek mentorship and technical advice for curriculum development and community-based educational projects.
Note: Discussions were private in nature and focused on strategic cooperation, capacity-building, and the possible timelines for joint activities.

Planned Follow-ups
- Organise a joint stakeholder meeting with LGEA to discuss school improvement plans and volunteer tutor mobilization.
- Invite faculty members from Gombe State University’s Dukku campus to lead workshops for senior-secondary students.
- Draft a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for pilot programs connecting secondary students to university events and resources.
